dc.description	La renovación historiográfica sobre los procesos independentistas de los últimos años ha significado un gran avance en nuestros conocimientos sobre la faceta militar de dichos sucesos. En diálogo con esta nueva producción sobre las guerras revolucionarias, este trabajo se propone revisitar lo ocurrido con el cuerpo de oficiales del Ejército Auxiliar del Perú en el contexto del Río de la Plata entre 1810 y 1820. A partir de la consulta de bibliografía sobre las fuerzas de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata y de documentación sobre dicho ejército existente en el Archivo General de la Nación y en el Archivo Belgrano del Museo Mitre intentamos reconstruir el perfil de los hombres que integraron dicho cuerpo de oficiales. Tratando de evitar la simple comparación entre lo que prescribían las ordenanzas militares que debían hacer y ser los oficiales y el comportamiento real de estos hombres, intentamos comprender que características reunían aquellos que, en este contexto determinado y con el correr de los años, podían ser considerados buenos oficiales o incluso oficiales profesionales.	es_ES
dc.description	The new historiography of independence processes published in recent years has been a breakthrough in our understanding of the military aspect of these events. In dialogue with this new production of the revolutionary wars, this paper proposes to revisit the history of the officer corps of the Auxiliary Army in the Rio de la Plata between the years 1810 and 1820. We will try to reconstruct the profile of the men who joined the corps by means of the literature about the forces of the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata and the existing documentation related to this army in the General Archive of the Nation and the Mitre Museum Archive Belgrano. We seek to answer which were the general features that characterized good officers or professional officers in this particular context and throughout the years, trying to avoid the simple comparison between the military ordinances prescribing what these officers should do and be and the actual behavior of these men.	es_ES
